Getting ready for the County Senior Football Final on Sunday

Shamrocks GAA Club prayed in the Cathedral at the Vigil Mass before tomorrow's County Football Final.  Conor Twomey read the following prayer before the Final Blessing of the Mass:

We come before the Lord this evening.

When we wear our colours the Shamrock is close to our hearts and it means everything to us.

3 leaves of the Shamrock. This is why we make our prayer through the Most Holy Trinity,

of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3 leaves. Christ fell three times.

We pray that when we fall down in life or on the field of play we can look to Christ and with his help we can rise to our feet once more.

3 leaves. The virtues - Faith, Hope and Love.

We have faith in Christ and in each other.

We pray that we will always have the strength to hope in any given situation. We have love for our Club, our Family, our Friends and our God.

We pray that we will use our gifts and our talents for the benefit of our club and our parish.

We make this prayer through Christ the Lord, AMEN
