Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
This week a group of 31 pilgrims are travelling to the Holy Land with
Fr Padraig and Fr Joseph.
They are spending five days in Jerusalem retracing the footsteps of Christ, visiting the holy sites including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
(location of Calvary and the Tomb of Christ), Via Dolorosa, Mount of Olives, Gethsemane and Bethlehem.
While in Jerusalem, they made a visit to Archbishop Giuseppe Lazzarotto, the Papal Nuncio in Israel and Palestine, who welcomed the Mullingar visitors to his home.
Next week they will travel north along the banks of the River Jordan to Tiberias. They will visit Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor, Capernaum and the Sea of Galilee.
The intentions of all parishioners in Mullingar will be remembered at the daily celebration of the Eucharist in the Holy Land.
