Holy Land pilgrims return
The Mullingar Parish Pilgrimage concluded on 26 August after 9 days in the Holy Land.
Fr Padraig guided the pilgrims to some of the most important places associated with the life of Jesus in the Scriptures. These places included Bethlehem, the Upper Room, the Garden of Gethsemene, the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, as well as 3 nights in Tiberias visiting Nazareth, Cana and Capernaum.
"I was delighted to share these special days with our parishioners" Fr Padraig said "giving us an opportunity to get to know each other better and to grow together in faith. I think we came home with a new understanding of the Scriptures, having walked in the footsteps of Jesus. My own favourite moment of the pilgrimage was the time we spent in the Church of Saint Anna, where our Blessed Mother was born. When we fix our eyes on Mary, we glimpse more clearly the beauty on the face of Christ and the depths of his love."
